Dr Hupalo graduated with a BDSc from the University of Queensland in 1988. He served as a Dental Officer in the Royal Australian Air force before commencing his specialist training in 1996. He attained his Masters of Dental Science in Prosthodontics and specialist registration in 1999 after graduating from the Specialist Training Programme in Prosthodontics at the University of Sydney. Dr Hupalo is in full time private practice in Sydney. His practice specialises in the treatment of missing or damaged teeth. Apart for the traditional restorative solutions, both tooth and implant supported, his other area of special interest is in adhesive dentistry and conservative dental solutions.

Dr Hupalo holds a teaching appointment with the University of Sydney. He is an advisor to tertiary institutions and the dental industry and is a consultant to the legal profession.

Dr Hupalo is more recently Past President of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Prosthodontists. He is also a member of the Australian Prosthodontic Society, International College of Prosthodontists and the American College of Prosthodontists.
